Settling In!

After finishing five weeks of my internship, I think it’s safe to say I’m really settling in as a working girl in the DC metropolitan area. I’m pretty good at navigating the traffic (even when I accidentally drive into the District), I use the metro whenever I can, and I’m starting to accomodate my Southern style to the more relaxed city look.

With all of that said, I could easily see myself living here after graduation. Of course, I’m entirely dependent on the job market in 2013, but if something opened up here, I would be PERFECTLY happy with that. I really enjoy the DC scene, and the people that I meet.

As far as my actual internship goes, what have I done since my last post, oh so long ago? I’ve worked at two more Theater Parties, a Membership Appreciation Night, and a picnic on the Lawn for the Colbie Caillat/Gavin DeGraw concert. This coming Monday will be a networking event for all of my fellow interns, of which there are 30. ALSO on Monday, my mom and stepdad are coming to town! I’m so excited to see them, and to show them where I work!

On Thursday, we’re going to Wolf Trap to see Diana Krall, my mom’s favorite singer. I’m so glad we get to see this concert together, at my favorite performance hall! 🙂 In the few weeks I’ve been here, I seen some AMAZING shows and concerts! The complete list: A Prairie Home Companion, South Pacific, Tchaik 5 with the National Symphony Orchestra, Gavin DeGraw & Colbie Caillat, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Memphis the Musical. I just ordered tickets for Brandi Carlile in a few weeks, SO EXCITED. Sight-seeing-wise, I’ve seen the Museum of American History, the Air and Space Museum, Eastern Market, Navy Yard, and last night was Taste of Reston. I love my life.

And for fun, I’m adding some photos that I love 🙂
